Slumber Party in Your Basement

There was a point in our relationship when we discussed not spending too much time together.  I'm glad that plan didn't work out.  It was finally the weekend, and we were going to spend the whole thing together.  Needless to say, I was pretty excited.  I showed up on Saturday in time to have lunch, play some basketball, and make brownies before we went to Amy's grad party.  Amy is a cool cat, for sure.  It was fun to meet your friends, her friends, hang out with Chip, do the slip and slide, and be your boyfriend.  Back at your house, you decided to make popcorn.  Unfortunately, the popcorn had other plans, and you almost lit your house on fire.  I wish we had that on video, because it was hilarious.  Even without popcorn, The Little Mermaid was still a great movie.  We watched the movie in each others arms, which must have been comfortable, because we stayed there for 3 more hours before bedtime.  It was nice.

Waking up to your voice on Sunday morning was one of the strangest, yet best surprises.  I have enough trouble bringing myself back to reality on a normal morning; it was even harder when reality seemed like a dream.  Once I had snapped out of my dream like state (if that has even happened yet), we headed out to CPR to check out your roots.  I really liked CPR, and it was great to get a feel for the youth group you grew up in.  We went out to lunch with Mark and the soon-to-be Moynihans, where we validated my invitation to the wedding.  I really liked them, too, which was fortunate because they came over later (to watch Lebron blow another game and lose the series).

A great weekend, full of fond memories.  One lesson from this particular weekend: waiting is often hard, but it's always worth it.  At least I hope so...
