"Really?"

Staying up until 6am with you and Geo was a blast.  Unfortunately, it meant I was barely conscious when I showed up at the Bridge on only 2 hours of sleep.  A lot of little things had to come together for this day to go according to plan.  Waking up was the first task.  Check.  Making sure you weren't driving was also key.  You were.  Everybody panic!  How about I drive?  Great.  Check.  Getting you alone in my car after church.  Check.  Keeping my heart rate under 200 on the ride home?  Not so much.  While I wasn't entirely sure how you felt about me, I figured you would probably agree to go on a date with me.  What I didn't know was if you were available on Thursday.  The last thing I wanted was one of those awkward conversations where the girl rejects the guy, but says nice things like "well i would love to if i wasn't busy," or "that would be fun, but I have plans."  I couldn't risk that possibility, but when I inquired about your plans for Thursday, you said you would probably go out to eat with the other seniors after commencement.  Game over.  I was so sure that commencement was on Friday.  [Stay cool, Lane.  Maybe you didn't hear her correctly.]  I asked again what you were doing on Thursday.  This time you hesitated, seeming to realize that I was up to something.  "Nothing... Why?"  [Breathe, Nick.  In through the nose, out through the mouth.]  "Well" [Your voice is quivering.  Get yourself together!] "If you aren't busy, I would love to take you on a date."  I think this was about the time I blacked out.  Or maybe I was slightly conscious when you asked, "Really?"  I barely remember you saying "Yea, that'd be great!" before you got of the car and I drove away, heart still beating out of my chest.
